AT Motherboard

AT motherboards have dimensions of a few hundred millimeters so they are not recommended for a mini desktop because they are not suitable. Large dimensions there also make it difficult to install new drivers. This type of motherboard uses sockets and six-pin plugs that act as electrical connectors.

ATX Motherboard

LPX Motherboard

These motherboards differ from the previous boards in that they contain output and input ports on the back. A riser card was also introduced to ensure that the placement of additional slots was opened and made easier. Later AT boards adopted several features from LPX motherboards.


However, low-quality LPX motherboards lack AGP slots and instead connect directly to PCI. The list of many tasteless aspects of the LPX types of motherboard features led to the creation of the NLX.


BTX Motherboard

Extended motherboards of balanced technology were created to cope with the changing technologies that required a lot of power and produced a lot of heat. Intel however canceled further development of BTX motherboards in late 2006 so that it could focus on lower-power processors.


Pico BTX Motherboard

The term "pico" is used due to the small size of these motherboards. They support a maximum of two expansion slots although they share a common top half similar to the BTX line. Pico BTX software designed specifically for razor or half-height card applications is considered a digital line.


Mini ITX Motherboard

It is a low-power motherboard with dimensions of 17 * 17 cm. A list of Mini TX types of motherboard features in the computer was designed in 2001 by VIA Technologies. In general, they are used in SFF computer systems because they have low power consumption and cool down very quickly.


They are therefore widely preferred when it comes to home theater systems where fan noise can reduce system quality.
