computer restarts randomly

 Fix Computer Restarts Randomly

The latest versions of Microsoft Windows allow the user to customize how his computer responds when he encounters a critical error. For example, if the fatal error or commonly referred to as the STOP error occurs, how exactly will the computer respond? This facility was not available to stop PC or computer randomly restarts in older versions of Windows 10. By default, whenever BSOD (i.e. STOP Error) occurs, the computer will be randomly restarting to prevent damage to the physical hardware components.

The computer startup problem occurs for several reasons such as installing unsupported software, corrupt system files, and corrupt registry or incorrect BIOS configurations. You can prevent your computer from restarting automatically or randomly whenever a STOP error occurs, but it is not recommended. This is because she will not achieve anything nor will she solve the problem.

Let’s go over the solutions that have helped most of the users I have helped yet.

Unsupported Software Installation

Software incompatibility often leads to STOP error and thus the problem of the PC or computer randomly restarts occurs. Software incompatibility refers to the installation of unsupported software packages. Let's take an example - You can't prevent a PC or computer from randomly restarts if you run Windows 10 and install a software product designed for Windows 7 only then it may cause serious problems with your system.

Remove the unsupported software:

  1. Click the Start button on the taskbar.
  2. Click Settings | Apps | Uninstall a program.
  3. Select the unsupported software product you have installed. If you are not aware of this, select a recently installed software product.
  4. Click the Uninstall button and follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Reboot the machine after it is complete.

Corruption in System Files

As a natural principle, do not modify the operating system files until a troubleshooting is required. Unfortunately, there are cases where system files are not licensed by third-party software products. In this case, the problem of the automatic startup of the computer occurs. To resolve this issue, restore the corrupted system file to its original versions. You must use the System File Checker (SFC) tool by following these steps.

Using SFC to Restore the Original System Files:

  1. Insert the media you used to install your operating system.
  2. Click the Start button on the taskbar.
  3. Search and Click Run.
  4. Type SFC / ScanNow
  5. Press ENTER to begin the process.

Corrupted Registry

Registry entries are responsible for most of the errors and problems on your computer. Severe junk entries in the registry automatically cause the computer to re-issue and may damage your important data. You should scan and fix registry corruption using a third-party registry cleaner and optimizer product.

Incorrect BIOS Configurations

BIOS settings may cause a problem with the computer to restart automatically if they are not configured correctly. You can return them to defaults by following these steps.

Restoring the Default BIOS Settings:

  1. Restart your machine.
  2. Press F2 or the Delete button.
  3. Click the Exit menu.
  4. Select Restore Defaults and press ENTER.
  5. Confirm your change.
  6. The machine will restart.

The Best Way to Repair Your Computer

An easy and quick way to fix a randomly or automatic computer restarts problem is to use the Registry Cleaner and Computer Optimizer. Perform a full registry scan and correct any errors found.

If you are looking for my recommendation, I will recommend PC Optimizer and fix the error now.
