 All About Computer Networks

Over some time computers have become an integral part of business. Computer Installation Their support and maintenance are services that all organizations require. As the business grows the number of computers in the organization also increases.

It becomes necessary to establish a systematic way of connecting these computers so that they function smoothly. That is why computers are connected in different ways. This is the concept of a computer network.

What is a computer network?

A computer network can be understood as several computers connected for sharing resources. The most common shared resource is the Internet. Other resources can be printer file servers, etc.

The computers on the network may be connected via an Ethernet cable or wirelessly via radio waves.

Now let's see how the individual computers on the network are connected:

Computers connected to the network are called nodes.

Topology of stars:

In this case, there is a central junction from which connections are made to individual computers. In this case, even if there is some problem with a particular cable the other computers can continue to function without interruption.

On the opposite side, this type of connection requires a lot of cables.

Topology of buses:

In this case, all the computers are connected with one cable. The information destined for the last computer should pass through all the nodes.

The main advantage is that it requires minimal cables. However, if there is a cable glitch all the computers are affected.

Topology of rings:

In this topology, all computers are connected using one cable. The end ties are also connected. The signal travels through the network to reach the intended recipient.

In case a network node is set incorrectly or there is another problem the signal will make many attempts to find the intended recipient.

Topology of collapsed ring:

In this case, the central node is a network device known as a router or hub switch. This device works on a ring that includes cable extensions. And each computer is independently connected to the device via individual cables.

Each organization selects its topology for the computer network to ensure the efficient functioning of its computers.

Once the computers are connected, the offices also have separate cable cabinets that are a space that contains a switching device that connects to the network.

Several computer networking companies provide the installation and support services of support services that ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of your systems.
